Caring for your jewellery
Your Daniel Bentley jewellery should be cleaned regularly to maintain its beautiful finish. You can use a soft cloth to clean fingerprints and stains from the surface. The pieces (not including satin and leather cords) can be cleaned in warm water and a small amount of dishwashing liquid to remove surface oils etc. ensuring that they are well dried inside and out before use.
Daniel Bentley Silver jewellery has tarnish resistant properties however should tarnishing happen you can follow these simple steps to remove the discolouration.
– Line the bottom of a small bowl with aluminium foil and place the tarnished piece on top. Sprinkle 1-2 teaspoons of Bicarbonate of Soda on and around the piece. Cover the piece in boiling water, (the water will fizz and bubble). After approximately 30 seconds carefully remove the piece and rinse in warm water, and dry immediately inside and out. If your piece contains pearls, do not use boiling water as this may affect the glue. Use water no more than 50ºC.
Storing your jewellery
Most damage to earrings, pendants and necklaces occurs when the pieces are being removed and put away. Your pieces should be layed flat on a soft cloth covered surface or box. They should not come in contact with other jewellery as this will scratch them. If they are to be stored for a prolonged period, place them in a separate zip-locked bag.
